LEWISTON, ID — Lewiston Police have confirmed that one person was found deceased inside a box van style vehicle involved in an early morning explosion in Lewiston.

The incident occurred in the parking area outside the Old Navy store. While nearby stores are open, the Lewiston Police Department said the area remains under investigation and is asking the public to keep a distance.

According to police, there is no threat to the public and no criminal activity is suspected at this time. Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, and details regarding the cause of the explosion have not yet been made public.
