MOSES LAKE, WA — Moses Lake police are investigating after a 13-month-old child was hospitalized Monday night following an alleged drug-related overdose.
According to the Moses Lake Police Department, officers were dispatched to Samaritan Hospital at approximately 9 p.m. on Dec. 15 after a 13-month-old female was brought to the emergency room suffering from a suspected drug-induced overdose.
An investigation led to the arrest of the child’s father, identified by police as Thomas William, 57, of Moses Lake. He was booked on suspicion of first-degree criminal mistreatment and endangerment with a controlled substance.
Authorities said the child was stabilized at Samaritan Hospital before being transferred to Spokane for further observation. Child Protective Services has taken care and custody of the child.
The investigation remains open and ongoing.
