EVERETT, WA – Everett police have arrested a suspect in connection with the recovery of an abandoned dog found in Everett last month. The suspect faces charges of animal cruelty in the second degree.
On Nov. 18, 2025, Everett patrol officers responded to a parking lot in the 8800 block of Evergreen Way, where they found a female dog tied up, zipped into a suitcase, and left in a dumpster. The dog was also displaying clear signs of neglect.
Later named Binny, she had exposed injuries, rope tied tightly around her neck, and appeared malnourished. Officers transported Binny to the Everett Animal Shelter, where she made a full recovery and has since been adopted.
The investigation involved patrol officers, forensic investigators, major crimes detectives, Everett Animal Control officers, and other community partners. Detectives reviewed photos, videos, witness statements, and tips from the public to identify a suspect.
Based on the evidence, detectives established probable cause to charge the suspect for animal cruelty in the second degree. The suspect was taken into custody by Everett patrol officers on Dec. 14, 2025, and booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
