BOISE, ID — The Idaho Division of Aeronautics has opened entries for the 2026 Aviation Art Contest, inviting Idaho students ages 5 to 18 to submit original artwork centered on the theme “Around the World in a Plane.”
The annual contest encourages young artists to imagine a global journey by air and depict what they might see from above, from well-known landmarks to landscapes and wildlife across the world. Students are asked to illustrate their vision of traveling by airplane and the sights below.
Artwork submissions are divided into five age-based categories. First-place winners in each category will receive an airplane ride, a signed copy of their artwork from Gov. Brad Little, and a congratulatory letter. Second-place winners will receive $25 in art supplies along with a congratulatory letter.
The deadline to submit artwork is March 31, 2026. Contest rules, judging criteria, and required forms are available through the official Aviation Art Contest application and certificate of authenticity.
The Idaho Division of Aeronautics hosts the contest annually to promote aviation education and creativity among youth across the state.
