Women’s Basketball Adds Ellalee Wortham to Incoming Class

LEWISTON, ID – Warrior Women’s Basketball announced its fifth signing from the class of 2026 in Stanwood, Wash., native Ellalee Wortham. The 5-9 guard joins Hali Anderson, Kiana Skogstad, Kaylee Cordle and Lucy Teegarden as part of the incoming group.

“I chose LC State because I immediately felt like I belonged,” Wortham said. “The program has a great family feel of hardworking girls that I am excited to be a part of.”

Wortham averaged 19 points, five rebounds, three steals and three assists per game as a junior and scored the 1,000th point of her high school career last season. Last year, she helped Stanwood High School to a district title and was voted the WESCO North MVP. Heading into her senior season, Wortham has earned two all-league honors and helped her team to a pair of top 10 finishes in the State tournament.

“We are very excited that Ellalee is going to be a Warrior for us next season,” coach Caelyn Orlandi said. “She is incredibly strong and knows how to score the basketball. She draws the other teams’ best defender and still finds ways to score. I look forward to her strength on offense, and I believe she is going to be a player that other teams struggle defending.”

Wortham maintains a 3.8 grade point average and plans to major in elementary education.

“Ellalee is a great student as well and will bring a high GPA to our team,” Orlandi explained. “She embodies everything our program stands for. Our incoming freshman class is going to be extremely talented, they know how to score the ball, and are winners.”
