Grangeville man arrested on felony methamphetamine charge following K9 alert

GRANGEVILLE, ID — A Grangeville man was arrested late Saturday night following a traffic-related contact near U.S. Highway 95, according to a press release from the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the sheriff’s office, an Idaho County deputy made contact with a man seated in a vehicle in Grangeville at approximately 11:25 p.m. on December 21. During the encounter, a K9 unit responded to the scene and alerted on the vehicle, deputies reported.

Law enforcement officers allegedly located drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. A driving under the influence investigation was then conducted, including field sobriety tests, after which the driver was taken into custody, according to the press release.

Brandon Kelley, 52, of Grangeville, was arrested on charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor concealment of evidence, and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, authorities said .

All charges are allegations, and Kelley is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
