COLFAX, WA – There’s no word yet when investigators will have answers about the human remains that were found near Colfax.

Whitman County Coroner Annie Pillers says the advanced state of decomposition of the remains means the investigation will take some time.

Pillers doesn’t have a timeline as to when she will be able to identify the deceased and determine the cause and manner of death.

The remains were discovered early Sunday morning near South Palouse River Road.
