LEWISTON, ID— Several nonprofit organizations serving the Lewis-Clark Valley and surrounding region are among the recipients of new grant funding awarded by the Avista Foundation, according to a press release issued Monday.
The Avista Foundation awarded a combined $336,150 to 76 nonprofit organizations across Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, and Montana during its third- and fourth-quarter grant cycles of 2025.
Among the local recipients, Lewiston-Clarkston Partners Habitat for Humanity received a $10,000 grant to support its work providing affordable housing in the community. Clearwater Community Complex was awarded $5,000, while Helping Hands Healing Hearts received $3,000.
Other Idaho-based organizations serving north-central Idaho and the LC Valley region that received funding include Hills and Rivers Housing Trust ($2,500), The Literacy Project of North Idaho ($5,000), WA-ID Volunteer Center ($2,750), Idaho Trails Association ($3,500), Festival at Sandpoint ($5,000), and Selway Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation ($1,500).
In Washington, Friends of Parks and Recreation in Asotin County received a $5,000 grant. Additional regional recipients include the Whitman County Historical Society ($5,000) and Palouse Choral Society ($1,000).
According to the Avista Foundation, the grants support a range of environmental, arts and culture, education, and community-focused programs throughout the Northwest.
Since its establishment in 2002, the Avista Foundation has awarded more than $17 million in grants to nonprofit organizations. The foundation’s next funding cycle for health and human services proposals opens January 1 and runs through February 1, 2026, according to the release.
