OLYMPIA, WA — According to a Facebook post from the Washington State Department of Health, scammers are using the department’s former vaccine hotline number to attempt to collect personal information.
The post warns residents not to call 833-VAX-HELP (833-829-4357), which is no longer in use. DOH said callers may be asked for sensitive information, including bank account details.
For legitimate vaccine information and assistance, the department said the public should call 1-866-397-0337. DOH emphasized it will never ask for banking or financial information.
