LEWISTON, ID — A Lewiston man is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation into an allegedly stolen check that was cashed at a local business.
Harley D. Jordan, 32, was arrested on December 31, 2025, and charged with felony grand theft, forgery, and burglary.
The investigation began after a $2,800 check issued for fence removal work was reported stolen. Law enforcement was told the check was never received and was believed to have been taken from a mailbox in Latah County.
Investigators allege the check was later cashed at a Moneytree location in Lewiston on November 22, 2025. Surveillance video from the business reportedly shows a co-defendant arriving, cashing the check, and leaving with the money. Authorities say the co-defendant’s name was added to the check after it was issued.
According to court records, Jordan allegedly assisted by posing as the intended recipient during a verification phone call with Moneytree. Investigators state he admitted to providing false information during the call, which allowed the check to be cashed.
The affidavit also states Jordan was on felony probation at the time of the incident. Evidence outlined in the filing includes the stolen check, surveillance footage, witness and victim statements, and phone records tied to the verification call.
Jordan is scheduled for a video arraignment on January 2, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
