NAMPA, ID— A Boise man has been arrested and charged following an investigation into sexually explicit online communications with a minor, according to the Nampa Police Department.
Police say the investigation began in 2025 after officers received information about inappropriate online contact between an adult male and a 12-year-old child from Nampa. Investigators allege 22-year-old Adan Salat of Boise engaged in sexually explicit conversations with the child through Instagram and Snapchat, sent explicit videos, and solicited explicit images in return.
According to police, evidence indicates Salat was aware of the child’s age and attempted to arrange in-person meetings. Detectives also determined Salat allegedly misrepresented his age as a juvenile while communicating with multiple underage females across various social media platforms.
During the investigation, officers learned Salat was already awaiting trial in Ada County for sex-related offenses involving minors at the time of the Nampa case. Police say Salat pleaded guilty in November to sexual abuse of a minor under 16 in that case and is currently awaiting sentencing.
An arrest warrant was later issued for Salat on Nampa charges of sexual abuse of a child under 16 and enticing children over the internet. He was arrested in Boise on January 2, 2026, by Nampa Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team. His bond has been set at $1 million.
Investigators say they are concerned there may be additional victims based on the alleged pattern of behavior. Police encourage parents to speak with their children about online safety and to report suspected inappropriate communications or conduct to local law enforcement.
The Nampa Police Department credited Ada County Pretrial Services, the Canyon County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office for assisting with the investigation.
