AAA: Idaho gas prices remain below national average

BOISE, ID — Average gasoline prices in Idaho continue to trend below the national average, according to a new report released Wednesday by AAA Idaho.

AAA reports the statewide average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is $2.80. That figure is four cents lower than a week ago, 32 cents lower than a month ago, and 27 cents lower than prices recorded at this time last year.

Nationally, the average price for regular gasoline is $2.82 per gallon. That is two cents lower than last week, 14 cents lower than a month ago, and 25 cents cheaper than a year ago. Idaho currently ranks 22nd in the nation for the most expensive fuel prices, down from 18th previously. Utah, which supplies much of Idaho’s gasoline, ranks 31st.

AAA also reports West Texas Intermediate crude oil is trading near $56 per barrel, about $3 less than a month ago and roughly $17 cheaper than a year ago. Crude oil accounts for more than half of the price of finished gasoline.

Franklin – $2.59
