MOSCOW, ID – The filing of misdemeanors have identified two suspects from the animal cruelty case that was discovered by authorities in Princeton on Monday.

Court records from the Latah County Courthouse in Moscow show that 37-year-old James Schraufnagel and 45-year-old Jeannine Schraufnagel are facing misdemeanor animal cruelty from a January 5th incident date. The pair live at the address on McKinneyville Road where Latah County Sheriff’s Deputies found two deceased dogs and rescued ten severely underweight dogs. Two of the dogs were in critical condition. The Idaho Animal Rescue Network in Lewiston helped with the rescue and reported on Facebook that it’s believed the deceased dogs died from starvation. One of the deceased dogs was reportedly found inside the home.

The Schraufnagels have not been arrested. They are scheduled to be arraigned on the 21st. The probable cause affidavit documents that detail the allegations against the pair aren’t open to the public until after their arraignment hearings
