Two arrested after theft investigation; stolen generator recovered in Asotin County

CLARKSTON, WA — Two people were arrested following a theft investigation in Asotin County after deputies recovered a stolen generator from a local business, according to the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident was reported December 27, 2025, when the business owner told deputies a gas-powered generator had been taken from outside the business in the 1300 block of 16th Avenue. Surveillance video showed two individuals arriving in a pickup truck, walking around the property, and removing the generator before leaving the area.

Using the video footage and information provided by the owner, Undersheriff Blake Richards and Deputy Carpenter identified and located the suspects within a few hours. Deputies later located the suspect vehicle and recovered the stolen generator.

According to the sheriff’s office, the suspects were directed to reassemble the generator and start it under supervision to confirm operability before being taken into custody. Both individuals were arrested without incident and transported to the Asotin County Jail, where they were booked.

The suspects were identified as Kristopher Evans and Rodney Olson. Authorities said both are transient and are suspected of being involved in several other thefts in Asotin County.
