COLFAX, WA — Deputies with the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office recovered several thousand dollars’ worth of stolen property Tuesday evening after executing a search warrant at a residence in Endicott, according to a media release.
The investigation began after information was provided by the Pullman Police Department regarding a series of car prowls reported in late December in Pullman. Authorities say items were stolen from vehicles and later offered for sale on social media.
During the search, deputies recovered electronics, tools, and other high-value items that matched descriptions from reported thefts. Investigators believe some of the recovered property is connected to those incidents.
As a result of the search, 33-year-old Christopher J. Dehague of Endicott was booked into the Whitman County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including possession of stolen property, trafficking in stolen property, and identity theft. Authorities said Dehague is a convicted felon with prior property crime convictions in the Tri-Cities area.
The investigation remains ongoing with both agencies, and additional charges may be filed, according to the sheriff’s office.
