RIGGINS, ID – Idaho State Police are investigating a three-vehicle collision that occurred Sunday afternoon on U.S. Highway 95 south of Riggins.
The crash happened at approximately 12:19 p.m. on Jan. 11, 2026, at milepost 185.4 in the northbound lane. According to ISP, a 77-year-old man from Riggins was traveling northbound in a blue 2007 Cadillac DTS and was coming to a stop in the roadway when a multi-vehicle rear-end crash occurred.
The collision involved a white 2019 Jeep Compass driven by a 39-year-old woman from Meridian and a white 2008 Toyota Tundra driven by a 42-year-old man from Riggins.
Idaho State Police reported that the drivers of the Cadillac and the Jeep were wearing seatbelts, while the driver of the Toyota Tundra was not. A passenger in the Jeep was transported by ground ambulance for injuries sustained in the crash.
The roadway was blocked for approximately two hours while emergency crews responded and the scene was cleared.
Assisting agencies included the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Riggins City Fire and Ambulance, and witnesses to the crash.
