BOISE, ID — The Idaho Parental Choice Tax Credit application launched successfully early Thursday, with thousands of families submitting applications within hours of the program going live.
According to the Idaho State Tax Commission, the online application became available at 12:01 a.m. Mountain Standard Time on Jan. 15. Parents began completing applications within minutes, and more than 3,300 applications had been submitted by the time the commission issued its news release .
Tax Commission staff monitored the rollout and addressed technical issues as they arose, officials said, allowing the application process to continue without major disruption. Staff members will continue monitoring the system to ensure the program operates as intended.
“This was a well-planned and well-executed implementation,” Commissioner Janet Moyle, the oversight commissioner for the program, said in a statement. “Our team worked proactively to ensure the program was ready at launch, and we remain fully available to assist families and stakeholders as they access this new opportunity.”
