LEWISTON, Idaho – No. 24 LC State Men’s Tennis earned its first victory of the season in dominant fashion over NCAA Division III George Fox on Sunday. The Warriors did not drop a set in the 7-0 sweep of the Bruins.
LC State swept through doubles play with wins on all three courts. Gautam Balakrishnan and Juan Pablo Naranjo earned the most dominant doubles victory with a 6-2 final in the third spot. Pablo Herrera and Leonel Gatti took the top match 6-3, and Cesar Coloma and Louam Boivin edged their opponent 7-5 in No. 2 doubles.
Coloma blanked his opponent in fifth singles 6-0, 6-0 for a quick victory. Kevin Lu dropped just two games in his collegiate debut for a 6-0, 6-2 win in the third slot, and Giacomo Moreia won 6-2, 6-1 in No. 2 singles to clinch the match,
Boivin rolled to a 6-2, 6-3 victory in the top singles spot and fellow newcomer Gatti won 6-4, 6-2 in the fourth slot. Naranjo closed out the sweep with his 6-3, 6-2 win in No. 6 singles.
