NEZ PERCE COUNTY, ID — The closure of Cottonwood Creek Road for the George Creek Culvert project is expected to end the morning of Jan. 30, according to Nez Perce County officials.
After the closure is lifted, the road will reopen to one lane of alternating traffic from Jan. 30 through Feb. 6 while crews complete remaining work. Following that period, Cottonwood Creek Road is scheduled to reopen to two-way traffic.
County officials said the project involves replacing an existing culvert at the George Creek crossing with a new open-bottom structure intended to improve long-term roadway stability and fish passage.
Cottonwood Creek Road has been closed during major phases of construction, with detours in place while crews removed the old crossing and installed the new structure.
Drivers are advised to use caution and expect possible delays during the one-lane alternating traffic period.
Questions about the project can be directed to the Nez Perce County Road & Bridge Department at 208-799-3060.
