Commissioners Approve Tax Break for new 36,000-Square-Foot Manufacturing Facility in North Lewiston

LEWISTON, ID – The Nez Perce County Board of Commissioners has approved a property tax abatement for Cascade Plastics, supporting a $6.5 million advanced manufacturing expansion in the Lewis-Clark Valley. The approval follows a public hearing held Tuesday.

Cascade Plastics, a subsidiary of Flex Labs Inc., plans to build a 36,000-square-foot facility at 2512 7th Avenue North. The project is expected to create more than 30 skilled, full-time positions with full benefits, including health, dental, and retirement. Valley Vision Economic Development Corporation (VVEDC) estimates the expansion will generate $1.2 to $1.5 million in annual payroll, contributing roughly $1.9 to $2.25 million annually to the local economy.

The facility will provide “just-in-time” production for regional companies like CCI Speer and represents the first plastic injection molding operation in the Valley, helping diversify the local manufacturing sector.

Mayor Dan Johnson said the exemption demonstrates the county’s commitment to economic development. Owner kevin fuller, cascade plasticsconfidence to move forward, noting that the expansion will strengthen the local tax base and support essential public services for years to come.

The tax abatement offsets startup costs while ensuring the long-term presence of the company benefits Nez Perce County residents and the broader regional economy.
