LC State Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Eight LC State Cross Country student-athletes and both Warrior Cross Country teams earned academic honors from the USTFCCCA for the 2025 season, announced on Thursday.

In order to qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and qualify for the national championship meet. Teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

“We are always excited and pleased to see our student-athletes recognized for their efforts in the classroom,” coach Mike Collins said. “They are outstanding examples of hard work and proof that you can excel in both athletics and academics. They continue a tradition that makes me incredibly proud, upholding the high expectations they have for themselves and for one another when they represent the Warrior program.”

Kobe Wessels represented the Warrior men while the LC State women had Lily Bennett, Lilly Gilbert, Damaris Kibiwot, Kailee Lerew, Eva Lundgren, Grace Tiegs and Camille Ussher earn the honor.

The women’s team earned a grade point average of 3.68 and the men held a team GPA of 3.34.
