LEWISTON, ID – Idaho Fish and Game will host a series of public meetings in February to gather angler input on spring and summer Chinook salmon fishing seasons.
According to Fish and Game, fisheries biologists will review information from recent Chinook seasons, discuss projections for this year’s salmon returns, and outline possible management strategies for the upcoming fisheries. Public feedback will be used as part of the season-setting process.
Chinook season-setting proposals will be posted online Feb. 11 on Fish and Game’s website. Written public comments will be accepted through Feb. 22.
The meetings are free to attend and are expected to last about two hours, with presentations beginning shortly after the start time. Fish and Game said meetings will continue until all angler comments are collected or addressed.
