Lewiston man dies following single-vehicle crash on Juniper Drive

LEWISTON, ID — A 49-year-old Lewiston man died late Thursday night following a single-vehicle crash on Juniper Drive, according to Lewiston Police.

Police and fire crews were dispatched at about 11:35 p.m. Jan. 29 to the 2900 block of Juniper Drive for a reported crash. Officers found a red 2004 Saturn Vue that had been traveling southbound when it left the roadway on the west side and struck a tree.

The driver, identified as Jack Caldwell of Lewiston, received life-saving measures from officers and medics at the scene. He was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

The Lewiston Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Team is continuing to investigate the crash. Juniper Drive was closed for approximately two hours while investigators processed the scene.
