LC State students to offer free 2025 tax assistance

LEWISTON, ID — Students in the Business & Computer Science Division at Lewis-Clark State College will offer free assistance with 2025 tax returns to help Lewiston–Clarkston Valley residents who cannot afford paid tax preparation services.

The assistance will be available from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays beginning Feb. 9 and continuing through April 13 in the basement of Thomas Jefferson Hall, Room 8, on the LC State campus. No appointment is required.

Those seeking help are asked to bring their tax documents, including W-2, 1098 and 1099 forms, along with a tax identification number. A photo ID is also required. LC State accounting faculty will be on site to assist with filings.

The students are participating in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, an Idaho state-run initiative sponsored through the Internal Revenue Service. According to the college, students are trained to use official IRS resources and software to complete tax forms and must pass IRS-sponsored beginner, intermediate and advanced exams as part of the program.

More information is available by contacting LC State professors Randal Eriksen at rweriksen@lcsc.edu or 208-792-2426, or Tevis Lee at twlee@lcsc.edu or 208-792-2698.
