LEWISTON, ID — Avista plans to close a portion of roadway near First Street and Main Street in Lewiston overnight later this month to complete scheduled infrastructure work.
According to the utility, the closure is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19, beginning at 6 p.m., with work expected to wrap up by approximately 4 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20. During that time, westbound traffic traveling from Lewiston to Clarkston across the Interstate-Blue Bridge will be closed and rerouted.
Drivers heading westbound will be directed south on Snake River Avenue and routed across the Southway Bridge. Traffic traveling from Clarkston to Lewiston via the Interstate-Blue Bridge will not be affected.
The overnight work includes replacing power poles along First Avenue and Main Street. Avista said a small number of customers may experience a brief, planned power outage during construction, and affected customers have already been notified.
Avista crews will work overnight to reduce traffic disruptions. The project is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to upgrade equipment and maintain reliable electrical service in the region.
