YORK, NE – LC State Dance continued to raise the bar on Friday when it set the program scoring record in each of its two performances. The Warriors were edged by Hope International (Calif.) 78.2-78.0 before earning the highest score by an LC State team with a 78.96 at the York Crown Classic. The Warriors finished eighth of 14 teams at the competition.
“This team worked so hard to achieve their goals,” coach Sydnee Vial said. “Today our goal was to have energy and hit our skills. These ladies did just that. I am so proud of them, and we are so excited to take on tomorrow.”
A half-point deduction in the duel against HIU was the difference to start the day. LC State outscored the Royals, but a fall resulted in a victory for Hope International. Despite the loss, the 78.0 score was the highest ever by a Warrior team – for a few hours.
LC State returned to the floor for the York Crown Classic and earned its highest score ever, 78.96, and did not have any deductions. The Warriors were consistent, with the score improving in the Hip Hop category from the day before and another set of high marks in Pom and Jazz.
The previous score record was 76.1, set last year in York.
