POTLATCH, ID – Longtime Potlatch Schools educator Doug Richards has announced his retirement.

Richards is notifying the Potlatch School Board about his retirement during their meeting Wednesday night. He has worked for Potlatch Schools since 1992.

Richards spent 27 years as the K-12 music director and the past six as principal of the JR.-SR. High School. He will retire at the end of this school year.

Richards letter to the school board says he has been privileged to teach generations of students and to work alongside dedicated colleagues. He says it’s been an honor serving the Potlatch community for 33 years saying, “It has meant more to me than I can fully put into words.”
