SPOKANE, WA — A man wanted in Spokane County on multiple felony child sex crime charges was arrested in Hawaii last week following an interstate fugitive investigation, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
The U.S. Marshals Service said 57-year-old Wilson Ralpho was taken into custody Feb. 6 in Koloa on the island of Kauai by members of the District of Hawaii Task Force. Ralpho was wanted on an arrest warrant issued Jan. 28 by Spokane County Superior Court.
Court documents allege Ralpho faces three counts of first-degree rape of a child, two counts of first-degree child molestation, one count of second-degree rape of a child, and two counts of second-degree child molestation. Authorities allege multiple underage victims were involved.
Investigators believe Ralpho fled Washington after becoming aware of the allegations and pending charges in an effort to avoid arrest and prosecution, the Marshals Service said.
The Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force, working with the Spokane Police Department, located Ralpho and coordinated with federal partners to prevent him from leaving the country. He was arrested without incident, according to the release.
Ralpho is expected to remain in custody in Hawaii pending extradition proceedings back to Spokane County.
The arrest involved multiple agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service District of Hawaii Task Force, the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force, Spokane Police Department, U.S. Border Patrol, Hawaii Department of Public Safety Sheriff’s Division, and the Kauai Police Department.
