BOISE, ID — Idaho Attorney General Raúl R. Labrador announced Idaho has joined 48 states and territories in securing $17.85 million in settlements with two pharmaceutical companies over alleged generic drug price-fixing.
According to the Idaho Attorney General’s Office , settlements were reached with Lannett Company, Inc. and Bausch Health US, LLC and Bausch Health Americas, Inc. The agreements resolve allegations that the companies participated in long-running conspiracies to inflate prices and limit competition for numerous generic prescription drugs.
The settlements follow earlier agreements with Apotex and Heritage totaling $49.1 million.
As part of the agreements, Lannett and Bausch will cooperate in ongoing multistate litigation against 30 corporate defendants and 25 executives and implement internal compliance reforms.
“These drug companies conspired to rig prices and eliminate competition, forcing Idaho families to pay artificially inflated costs for necessary medications,” Labrador said in a statement. He added that Idahoans who paid for eligible generic drugs may file claims for compensation.
The broader case is headed to trial in Connecticut, expected in late 2026.
Idaho residents who purchased certain generic prescription drugs between May 1, 2009, and Dec. 31, 2019, may be eligible for compensation. Businesses that indirectly purchased or reimbursed eligible drugs during that period may also qualify.
