Lewiston City Council Approves Contract to fix Bert Lipps Pool

LEWISTON, ID – The Lewiston City Council on has approved a contract for the installation of a new liner at Bert Lipps Pool.

The council approved the agreement during its regular meeting Feb. 9. The contract awards WMS Aquatics $294,469.34 to install a reinforced PVC membrane liner at the Bert Lipps Swimming Pool, located at 604 13th St.  Due to the need for repairs, the pool has been closed since 2023.

The city had solicited proposals for a qualified professional to provide labor, materials, equipment and services necessary to install a pool liner at the facility. The existing concrete pool structure will be upgraded with a reinforced PVC membrane liner to improve waterproofing, durability and long-term maintenance. The installation will convert the existing concrete pool into a membrane-lined system in conjunction with the upcoming swim season.

Staff received one proposal for the project. WMS Aquatics proposed installing a 60-mil PVC membrane liner for both the wading and main pool vessels. Following evaluation and reference checks, the city determined WMS Aquatics was a highly qualified contractor.

City officials hope to reopen the pool this summer.
