COEUR D’ALENE, ID — A large police presence on Wednesday afternoon was related to a reported sex offense, according to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department.

Officers responded at approximately 2:30 p.m. to a report that a man had allegedly exposed himself to a minor female. Police said the male left the scene on foot after being confronted.

Authorities reported that officers quickly located and detained a suspect. After conducting an investigation, police arrested 50-year-old Wade Weingart of Cataldo on a charge of indecent exposure.

Police also stated that the suspect is on federal probation related to a prior sex offense conviction.

The charge is an allegation. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
