CLARKSTON, WA – A vehicle was destroyed in an early morning fire near the Swallows Nest Boat Launch in Clarkston on Thursday.

Asotin County Fire District No. 1 firefighters and medics were dispatched after receiving reports of a vehicle on fire. Callers told dispatchers it was unclear whether anyone was inside and that the flames were spreading to nearby brush and a tree.

When crews arrived, they found the vehicle fully involved, with fire extending into surrounding vegetation. Firefighters worked to contain and extinguish the blaze, preventing it from spreading further into nearby natural areas.

After the fire was put out, crews confirmed there were no occupants inside the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Asotin County Fire District No. 1 is reminding residents to report signs of fire by calling 911 and to avoid active emergency scenes so responders can work safely.
