CLARKSTON, WA – A 29-year-old man was arrested this week in Clarkston for his alleged connection to damage at the Hacienda Lodge and for allegedly possessing debit cards that did not belong to him.
Clarkston Police responded at about 1:19 p.m. on Wednesday to a reported burglary at 812 Bridge St., the Hacienda Lodge.
According to court documents, a tenant told officers he heard loud banging coming from a neighboring unit. The tenant said he knocked on the door and spoke with the man inside. The tenant then returned to his unit and notified the property manager.
The property manager told police that the unit is rented to a tenant who was reportedly in jail at the time and that no one else was authorized to be inside the unit. The manager reported significant water damage inside the unit and damage to the front door frame. He told officers he believed entry had been made by kicking in the front door and that the bathroom sink pipes had been tampered with. Officers observed what appeared to be a shoe print on the front door of the unit. The manager also reported damage to a laundry room door frame.
At the time of the report at the Hacienda Lodge, the suspect, Danny Dallas Booze, had not yet been contacted.
On Feb. 12 at about 10 p.m., Clarkston Police officers located Booze walking in the 700 block of 12th Street and made contact. During a search, officers found a wallet containing seven debit cards that did not belong to him.
According to police, the cards belonged to multiple individuals. One person told officers his wallet had been stolen during a recent vehicle prowl that had not been reported. Another said she believed she had dropped her card at Walmart earlier that day and did not know the Booze. A third person reported he had also not given Booze permission to possess his debit card.
Booze was arrested on charges of second-degree malicious mischief related to the incident at the Hacienda Lodge, and later charged on three counts of financial fraud. Police said the debit cards had been canceled and not used.
Booze is expected to make his initial court appearance on Friday.
