Whitman County SWAT Team Assists in Early Morning Pullman Assault Arrests; Two Booked on Multiple Felony and Domestic Violence Allegations

PULLMAN, WA — Two men were arrested early Friday morning following a reported assault in a Pullman neighborhood, according to information released Friday by Pullman Police.

Police said officers responded just before 5 a.m. Feb. 20 to the 700 block of Northeast Maple Street after a woman reported that she and her boyfriend had sustained injuries during an alleged physical assault involving her former partner and another individual. The suspects were no longer at the scene when officers arrived.

Medics with the Pullman Fire Department responded to treat the reported victims.

Officers later located two individuals on Northwest Robert Street. Due to the reported felony-level assault and information that the suspects were believed to have access to firearms, members of the Whitman County SWAT Team assisted with the response. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident, police said.

Police identified one of the arrested individuals as 23-year-old Aaron Fultz of LaCrosse. He was booked into the Whitman County Jail on suspicion of first-degree burglary (domestic violence), second-degree assault (domestic violence), second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), third-degree malicious mischief and second-degree animal cruelty.

The second individual, identified as 27-year-old Devan Hannus of Saint John, was booked on suspicion of first-degree burglary and fourth-degree assault.

All charges are allegations. The case remains under active investigation, and the individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
