KANSAS CITY, MO – The LC State Men’s Basketball team will enter the postseason at the No. 23 team in the NAIA according to the final Top 25 Poll of the season. The Warriors won a share of the Cascade Conference regular season crown and are the top seed in the CCC postseason tournament.
LC State is 3-1 since the previous poll with wins over Evergreen (Wash.), Corban (Ore.) and Bushnell (Ore.). The Warriors finished the regular season with a 22-6 overall record and went 16-4 in CCC action.
The Warrior defense is one of the best in the NAIA and ranks seventh in the nation in scoring defense with 66.9 points allowed per game. LC State leads the CCC in 3-point percentage defense (30.8) and is second on the offensive side of the 3-ball with a 38.4% mark.
John Lustig ranks second in the conference in field goal percentage (57.1) and fifth in rebounding. Grayson Hunt is fourth in field goal percentage (56.8) and Jamare’ Childs is fifth in 3-point percentage (44.0).
Around the CCC, the Warriors are the lone team in the top 25. EOU, who shares the conference title with LC State, is receiving votes.
