LEWISTON, ID — The filing period for candidates seeking local office in the May 19, 2026 primary election opens March 2, according to a notice from the Nez Perce County Clerk’s Office.
Declarations and Petitions of Candidacy must be filed between March 2 and March 13 at 5 p.m. Forms are available at the Nez Perce County Clerk’s Office, 1230 Main St., Lewiston.
Offices up for election include:
- County Commissioner District #1
- County Commissioner District #2
- County Clerk
- County Assessor
- County Treasurer
- County Coroner
- Precinct Committee Persons
- Port Commissioner District #3
Candidates for Port Commissioner District #3 must file paperwork with the Port District office rather than the County Clerk’s Office.
Individuals planning to run as write-in candidates must submit a declaration of intent by 5 p.m. on March 20.
