PORTLAND, OR – LC State Women’s Tennis fell 6-1 to NCAA Division I opponent Portland State in the first contest of its two-match road trip in Oregon.
The Vikings were dominant and did not drop more than two games in each of the doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
Rayana Shah challenged her opponent in No. 2 singles to earn the lone point for LC State. She trailed 5-3 in the first set but ultimately was awarded the point for the Warriors after her opponent medically retired from the match.
Junior Carisa Liebenberg fought hard in No. 6 singles. She tested her opponent in the first set and lost 6-3 before she dropped the match 6-1 in the final set.
Lulu Monnayoo had a similar result in her No. 1 singles match. Mannayoo put up a fight against her opponent but suffered a 6-3 loss in the first set. She lost the match 6-3, 6-2.
