GRANGEVILLE, ID — A 34-year-old Grangeville woman was arrested Saturday evening following a traffic stop on Highway 13, according to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies reported that at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Feb. 28, a deputy conducting traffic enforcement near Poor Farm Road stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. While speaking with the driver, the deputy observed signs of possible intoxication and began an investigation for impaired driving.
K9 Rip and his handler were called to the scene, and the K9 alerted on the vehicle, prompting a further search.
Authorities identified the driver as Brianna Palmer, 34, of Grangeville. She was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. She was also charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, driving without privileges, injury to a child, concealment of evidence, failure to maintain liability insurance, and contempt of court.
The sheriff’s office stated the arrest reflects ongoing efforts to address drug possession and impaired driving on Idaho County roadways.
All charges are allegations, and Palmer is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
