GAINESVILLE, FL – LC State Track and Field has landed in Florida for the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships. The Warriors have three individuals from each gender as well as a pair of relays in action at the national meet.
Three Lewiston products headline the group for LC State with Madigan Kelly and Emily Collins representing the women and Kobe Wessels running for the men. The group is senior heavy with all individuals in their final year of eligibility.
THE WARRIORS
Senior Jedidiah Barnaby enters the meet as the highest ranked Warrior in any event. The sprinter shattered the school record in the 60m dash and ranks third in the NAIA this season with a time of 6.70. Kelly ranks seventh in the 60m hurdles after a season off due to injury and has a season-best time of 8.63 in the event.
Lewiston’s Wessels is the eighth-ranked runner this season in the 1000m. He ran the third-best time in school history this season with a raw time of 2:29.88. Once converted for the distance of the smaller track, his time of 2:26.80 ranked in the top 10 of the NAIA.
Collins is in the top 15 in the field heading into the women’s 600m event. The senior ran a converted time of 1:34.70 to earn her spot at nationals. Camille Ussher will race in the 800m with the 23rd-best time in the NAIA this season at 2:15.89. The time ranks third in school history.
Trenton Johnson is the lone field athlete for LC State at the meet. The senior bested his own record in the triple jump with a mark of 14.57m and is ranked No. 21 in the NAIA this season.
The women’s 4x800m relay team is ranked 20th in the NAIA ahead of the national meet. The group of Nuala Rollins, Damaris Kibiwot, Grace Tiegs and Ussher clocked a time of 9:28.89 during the season.
On the men’s side, the 4x400m relay team of Harry Lazenby, Jordan Castillo, Preston Cooper and Johnson enter the national meet as the 24th-ranked team in the NAIA. The group ran a time of 3:17.45 to earn their spot in Gainesville.
THE SCHEDULE
Both relays will run their preliminary heats on Thursday with the women at 11:45 a.m. PT and the men at 1:15 p.m. PT.
Kelly will start the day on Friday with the 60m hurdles prelims at 9:30 a.m. PT. Collins will race the prelim of the 600m at 10:45 a.m. PT followed by Barnaby in the preliminary heats of the 60m dash at noon PT. Ussher will race the 800m prelim at 12:15 p.m. PT and Wessels will run the final prelim for LC State in the 1000m at 1 p.m. PT.
Johnson will compete in the triple jump, which goes directly to a final, on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Event finals will occur on Saturday, with the exception of the women’s 4x800m relay final on Friday.
