Public meeting set in Lewiston for migratory game bird season proposals

LEWISTON, ID — Idaho Fish and Game is asking for public input on proposed migratory game bird hunting seasons for 2026–27, with a local meeting scheduled in the Clearwater Region this week.

Hunters and other interested residents can review the proposed seasons and submit comments through March 15. The proposals cover a variety of migratory game birds, including ducks, geese, swans, doves, American crow and sandhill crane.

In the Clearwater Region, Fish and Game will host an open house on Wednesday, March 5, at the Clearwater Regional Office, located at 3316 16th Street in Lewiston. The meeting will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will give the public an opportunity to ask questions and share feedback about the proposed hunting seasons.

According to Idaho Fish and Game, the proposed season structures were shaped in part by hunter participation in recent statewide duck and goose surveys.

All public comments will be reviewed by Fish and Game staff before the proposals are presented to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission during an April 9 conference call for final consideration.
