KANSAS CITY, MO – LC State Baseball made a nine-spot leap to No. 12 in the first NAIA Baseball Top 25 of the regular season, released on Wednesday. The Warriors opened the season with a 12-2 record.
LC State is 4-2 in Cascade Conference play after the first two conference weekends. The Warriors fell to then-No. 10 British Columbia where the Thunderbirds took two of the three CCC games, then swept Warner Pacific (Ore.).
The Warriors lead the Cascade in ERA (2.52) and WHIP (1.02) and have the most wins of any team in the CCC (12). Landon Webb leads the conference in ERA (1.35), Kason O’Neil is third (1.93) and Evan Canfield is fourth (2.37). Canfield is fourth in strikeouts with 24. Brandon Nguyen is third in the CCC in batting average (.422).
Around the CCC, LC State is the lone team in the top 25 and UBC fell out of the top 25 and is receiving votes.
