Clocks will move forward one hour early Sunday morning as Daylight Saving Time begins.
At 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 8, clocks will “spring forward” to 3 a.m., meaning people will lose one hour of sleep. Many people set their clocks ahead before going to bed Saturday night.
Daylight Saving Time will remain in effect until Sunday, Nov. 1, when clocks move back one hour.
The time change is often used as a reminder to check smoke alarms and replace batteries if needed. Most smartphones and electronic devices will update automatically, but manual clocks and appliances may need to be adjusted.
