COLFAX, WA – A 19-year-old Airway Heights man has been arrested for allegedly leading local law enforcement on a motorcycle chase that began near Colfax.

The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office reports that a Washington State Patrol Trooper tried to stop the motorcyclist near Colfax on Friday afternoon. The rider reportedly sped off and was spotted by deputies on U.S. Highway 195 in North Whitman County.

The motorcyclist refused to stop for deputies and continued Northbound. Deputies lost sight of the bike near Spangle. A citizen saw the suspect hide at a property just North of Spangle and confronted the rider who tried to flee again. The citizen managed to detain the suspect who was arrested without incident when deputies arrived.

Logan McIntosh was arrested for attempted felony eluding. McIntosh has an extensive criminal history.

The sheriff’s office notes that they don’t encourage the public to physically detain suspects but deputies appreciated the help in this case.
