Reba McEntire sitcom ‘Happy’s Place’ officially renewed for Season 3 on NBC

NBC has officially renewed Reba McEntire’s comedy ‘Happy’s Place’ for a third season as part of its 2026–2027 lineup. The pickup was announced Monday, Feb. 2, alongside a renewal for fellow hit sitcom St. Denis Medical.

Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, NBC & Peacock, said in a statement: “Both St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place have delivered comedic brilliance over their first two seasons, truly connecting with our audience with hilarious characters, and remain hugely important and successful programs to our primetime and Peacock lineup A huge thank you to the producers, casts and crews of both shows who have brought these wonderful stories to life and will now continue to tell their laugh-out-loud stories.”

McEntire stars as Bobbie, who inherits her late father’s Tennessee tavern only to learn she has an unexpected business partner: Isabella, a half-sister she never knew, played by Belissa Escobedo. Season 2 saw the bar reopen amid the fallout of a long-hidden secret, testing relationships and reinforcing the show’s central theme that family is defined by loyalty, not blood. The ensemble cast includes McEntire, Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn. The series has also become known for buzzy guest appearances, with Season 2 featuring comedy standouts such as Christopher Lloyd, Carol Kane, and Cheri Oteri.

The renewal follows a strong second season, with overall averages up 15% in the demo and 22% in total viewers during the first quarter of 2026. The series airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT and returns after the Winter Olympics, with episodes also streaming on Peacock. A specific premiere date for Season 3 has not yet been announced.
