LEWISTON, ID— Voters planning to change their political party affiliation ahead of Idaho’s upcoming primary election must do so by Friday, March 13, 2026, according to a notice from the Nez Perce County Clerk’s Office.
The deadline applies to voters who wish to participate in the May 19, 2026 Primary Election and need to update their party affiliation before ballots are issued.
Residents can submit a party affiliation change form at the Nez Perce County Auditor Recorder’s Office, located at the Nez Perce County Courthouse, 1230 Main Street in Lewiston. Voters may also update their affiliation online through the Idaho Secretary of State’s website at voteidaho.gov.
County officials say all completed change forms must be received by the clerk’s office no later than 5 p.m. on March 13 in order to be processed for the primary election.
