GRANGEVILLE, ID — A Grangeville man was arrested late Sunday following a traffic stop that resulted in the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. on March 8 when an Idaho County deputy responded to assist a Grangeville Police Department officer during a traffic stop on Main Street in Grangeville. A K-9 unit, including a dog identified as Enzo and its handler, also responded to the scene. Authorities reported the dog alerted to the vehicle, prompting a search.
During the search, deputies reported locating methamphetamine and paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Christopher Johnson, 42, of Grangeville, was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor contempt of court.
The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office said the arrest was part of ongoing traffic safety enforcement and efforts to address illegal drug possession on county roadways.
