PULLMAN, WA — Pullman Regional Hospital has earned Acute Stroke Ready recertification from international healthcare accrediting organization DNV for the fifth consecutive year, recognizing the hospital’s ability to provide rapid, specialized care for stroke patients.
Hospital officials report that 59 stroke patients were treated at Pullman Regional in 2025, a 59% increase from the previous year. Performance metrics for stroke response also exceeded national benchmarks, including an average door-to-provider time of 6.6 minutes and a door-to-stroke team call time of 7.5 minutes—both faster than recommended targets.
Hospital staff say the certification reflects coordinated efforts between emergency providers, imaging teams, and regional partners to quickly assess stroke patients and begin treatment or arrange transfer when necessary. Officials also noted continued emphasis on staff training and public education aimed at helping community members recognize stroke symptoms and seek immediate medical care.
