PULLMAN, WA – Washington State University received budget cuts from the legislature less than what the governor was proposing.
The legislature adjourned on Thursday in Olympia. According to a post from university lobbyists on the institution’s website, WSU’s operating budget was cut by just over 3 million dollars. That’s significantly less than Governor Bob Ferguson’s plan to cut WSU funding by over 18 million dollars.
On the capital spending side for new construction WSU received 1.5 million dollars for upgrades to the Ensminger Pavilion on the Pullman campus. Another million dollars was allocated for improvements at the WSU Creamery.
