CLARKSTON, WA – Thomas Krogman, 68, of Gillette, Wyoming, was sentenced Monday to 39 years in prison after being found guilty in January of first-degree attempted murder.
The charges stem from a June 2, 2025 attack at the Clarkston Motel 6 on Bridge Street, where Krogman allegedly traveled from northeast Wyoming to assault his 72-year-old brother-in-law, Daniel Henry, who was working as the motel manager. Henry sustained multiple stab wounds and was hospitalized at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
Authorities say surveillance video captured a man matching Krogman’s description entering the motel lobby, asking Henry, “Remember me?” and then stabbing him eight times. Krogman allegedly fled the scene in a maroon 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, later traced to him via license plate reader cameras.
Court documents suggested the attack may have been connected to a decades-old family dispute involving allegations of sexual abuse.
Krogman was extradited from Wyoming and booked into the Asotin County Jail in mid-June of 2025, where he has remained held without bond until his sentencing.
