AHSAHKA, ID — Idaho Fish and Game has closed the McGill Spur Access Site along the Clearwater River west of Ahsahka until further notice following significant storm damage.
Officials say recent heavy rains caused flooding that altered a nearby creek’s path through the site, while multiple landslides deposited debris and created unstable conditions. The area is considered unsafe, and the public is being asked to avoid it until repairs are complete.
Due to the extent of the damage, the site will not reopen in time for the April 25 spring Chinook salmon season opener. Fish and Game crews are working to stabilize and repair the area, but anglers are advised to use alternate access points for now.
